Resolution Passed Unanimously
Pune: Young entrepreneur and Chairman of the Punit Balan Group, Punit Balan, has been appointed as the Acting President of the Amateur Kabaddi Foundation of Maharashtra. The appointment was unanimously approved during a special executive meeting of the foundation.
The annual meeting of the Amateur Kabaddi Foundation of Maharashtra was held in Alandi, Pune district, under the chairmanship of Sapna Waghmode and in the presence of Bharati Jagtap. Office-bearers of the organization and distinguished personalities from the sports fraternity attended the meeting.
During the session, detailed discussions were held regarding the future roadmap of the organization. Several measures were proposed to make the foundation more efficient, dynamic, and transparent. Considering his experience, leadership skills, and contribution to sports development, Punit Balan was entrusted with the responsibility of Acting President.
Balan has been actively involved in promoting sports across Maharashtra through various tournaments, leagues, and youth-focused initiatives. His extensive experience in sports management is expected to strengthen the foundation’s efforts in developing and promoting kabaddi at both state and national levels.
Members of the executive body expressed confidence that under Balan’s leadership, the sport of kabaddi in Maharashtra would receive a more organized, transparent, and professional direction. Expectations were also raised regarding the adoption of modern technology, enhanced opportunities for players, better tournament management, and increased credibility of the organization.
The resolution proposing Balan’s appointment was moved by Dnyanesh Kale from Satara and seconded by Gokul Tandale from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The resolution was passed unanimously.
The meeting also resolved that the foundation would play a more active role in organizing state and national-level kabaddi tournaments in the future.
